Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 7, 2026
Coparently ("we", "us", "our") operates the Coparently web and mobile application (the "App"), a co-parenting coordination tool that helps families manage shared calendars, custody schedules, messaging, expenses, and related records. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who We Are
Coparently operates the App described above. This policy applies to all users. By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
- Account information. When you register, we collect your email address and password (stored only as a secure hash). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from that provider.
- Family and profile information. You can add family members to your family workspace, including names, email addresses, roles (parent/child), and display colors. Only invite those people and enter information you have the right to share.
- Calendar and custody data. Events, custody assignments, trade requests, notes, and related schedule details you and your co-parents enter.
- Messages and attachments. Text messages, images, videos, and voice recordings you send within the App, along with delivery and read status.
- Expenses and receipts. Expense descriptions, amounts, categories, payment splits, and receipt images you upload.
- Journal entries and info records. Notes, photos, and reference information (medical, school, contacts, legal, insurance) you save in the App.
- Usage and technical data. Basic analytics about how features are used, device information, and standard server logs needed to run and secure the service.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information only to provide and improve the App's core functions, including:
- Displaying your family's calendar, messages, expenses, and records to you and the family members you are connected with.
- Sending notifications you request, such as emergency alerts, message notifications, daily briefings, and calendar reminders — via push notification or email.
- Powering optional AI writing assistance: when you ask for AI help drafting a message, the draft text you provide is processed by our AI provider to generate a suggestion. Message content is only processed when you explicitly request it.
- Maintaining an audit trail of calendar changes for record-keeping and accountability within your family.
- Ensuring security, preventing abuse, and troubleshooting.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your private messages, calendar entries, or family records for advertising or to train AI models.
4. Who Can See Your Information
- Your family data (calendar, messages, expenses, records) is visible only to members of your family workspace. Each family's data is isolated from other families.
- App administrators in your family may manage certain settings and view audit history for calendar changes.
5. Third-Party Services
We rely on trusted service providers to operate the App:
- Base44 — application hosting, database, authentication, and infrastructure.
- Google — sign-in with Google (if you choose it).
- Mailgun — delivery of notification emails.
- AI providers — processing text you explicitly submit for AI-assisted drafting.
These providers process data only on our behalf, under their own security and privacy obligations. We do not share your data with anyone else except as required by law or to protect safety, rights, or security.
6. Children's Information
The App is intended for adults (parents and guardians). Children may be represented inside a family as profiles, but the App is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Information about children (names, schedules, medical notes) is entered and controlled by their parents or guardians. If you believe a child has provided personal information directly, contact us and we will remove it.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account is active so the App can function. You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time:
- By using the account deletion option in the App, which removes your profile, family links, and personal records; or
- By contacting us at the email listed below.
Some records shared with other family members (such as calendar events or messages you sent to others) may be retained so the remaining family members' history remains complete.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing.
You can control notification settings inside the App. You can disable push notifications or emails at any time from your family settings, and your account can be deleted at any time. To exercise any right, contact us at the email listed below.
9. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and family-level isolation to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the App or by email, and the "last updated" date above will always reflect the current version.
11. Contact Us
Questions about this policy or your data? Contact us at the support email provided in the App store listing or within the App. We aim to respond to privacy requests within 30 days.
